Schizophrenia

1) Schizophrenia is a recoverable disease(정신분열은 회복 가능한 질병이다.)

Delusion(망상), hallucination(환각), tension(긴장) and bizarre behavior(기괴한 행동), incoherent speech(와해된 언어), avoidance(기피) of interpersonal relationship(대인관계), blunt expression(둔마된 표현), and loss of desire are common symptoms of schizophrenia(욕구의 상실은 조현병의 주된 증상이다.) It is a disease of abnormal brain functions(비정상적인 뇌 기능의 질병이다) which may take a chronic course to bring personality deterioration(인격 악화를 초래하는 만성적 과정이 수반될 수 있는). It is a treatable and fully recoverable disease(치료 가능하고 회복 가능한 질병이다.) often untreated and hidden, however,(그러나 종종 치료받지 않고 숨겨있지만) because of shame and fear of stigma(수치심과 낙인에 대한 공포 때문에), which may bring more serious problems later(나중에 더 심각한 문제로 돌아올 수 있다.)

2) The symptoms of schizophrenia(조현병의 증상)

Because it is a disease of the brain(그것은 뇌의 질병이기 때문에), the functions of thought(사고), emotion(감정), perception(지각), behavior(행동) may be affected and manifest in various symptoms.(영향을 받을 수 있고 다양한 증상이 나타날 수 있다.)

Delusion(망상): unrealistic fixed false belief(비현실적인 고정된 잘못된 믿음) (resist against rational explanation(합리적 설명) and persuasion(설득)에 저항하다)

Hallucinations(환각): perception of things that do not exist(존재하지 않는것들에 대한 지각) (auditory(청각), visual(시각) and tactile(촉각) hallucinations(환각))

Confusing language(혼란스러운 언어): speaks according to specific logics of their own(그들 자신의 특정 논리에 따라서 말을 한다). Their speech is very difficult to understand as the contents are confusing(그들의 말은 매우 이해하기 어렵고 내용이 혼란스럽다.)

Negative symptoms(음성 증상): Basic functions(기본기능) of social life(사회생활) are affected(영향을 받는다) to become very inadequate(매우 부적절해지고, manifested by avoidance of interpersonal relationship(대인기피), blunt facial expression(둔마된 표현), and the lack of desires(욕구의 결핍)

3) Treatment of schizophrenia (조현병의 치료)

It reduces symptoms (그것은 증상을 감소시킨다.)
It helps to improve speech (그것은 말하기 향상에 도움이 된다)
It reduces anxiety, tension, and restlessness(초조, 긴장, 불안을 줄인다.)
It reduces or eliminates auditory hallucinations(청각, 환각을 줄이거나 없앤다.)
It clears mind and improve mental concentration(정신을 명료하게 하고 정신 집중력을 향상시킨다.)
It reduces aggressive behavior, irrational anger, and irritability(공격적인 행동, 비이성적인 분노, 과민성을 감소시킨다)
It eliminates strange thoughts and feelings(이상한 생각과 감정을 제거한다.)
It helps to restore normal expressions of emotion correcting inappropriate smiles or crying(도움을 준다, 회복하기위해, 감정의 정상적인 표현, 부적절한 미소나 울음을 교정하는)
- Psychoisocial rehabilitation is important(정신 사회적 재활이 중요하다)
It reduces chances for recurrence(재발) and rehospitlalization(재입원)의 기회를 낮춘다.
Because of difficulty in inter-personal relationship and vocational activity, various social function rehabilitation therapy is necessary.(대인관계와 직업활동이 어렵기 때문에, 다양한 사회적 기능 재활 치료가 필요하다.)
